 CPI(M) Donates Rs. Ten Lakh to PM’s Relief Fund

 A delegation of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) met the Prime Minister today and handed over a cheque for Rs. 10 lakhs as the intial contribution of the CPI(M) Central Committee to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund towards relief and rehabilitation in the tsunami affected areas. The delegation led by the CPI(M) General Secretary Harkishan Singh Surjeet included CPI(M) Central Committee Member and Lok Sabha MP Hannan Mollah and CPI(M) leader in the Rajya Sabha Nilotpal Basu.

 The delegation appreciated the efforts being made by the Central government in meeting this calamity and providing relief to the victims.

 The Polit Bureau has already announced that all its MPs will donate one month’s salary to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.
