The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) reiterates that all those guilty of this public loot, whether they are now with the BJP or the TMC must be brought to book, their properties confiscated and monies looted from the people be returned to them, with interest.

The vicious targeting by the Modi government and BJP state governments of intellectuals and activists, who support the cause of Dalit and oppressed communities, is intensifying. This is confirmed by the treatment being meted out to noted intellectual Anand Teltumbde in the Bhima Koregaon case. Teltumbde has been falsely charged in this case when he was not even present at the event. Teltumbde is a senior Professor and author of many critically acclaimed books.
His statement has dangerous implications for the future as it means that any Supreme Court judgement which does not suit the interests of the BJP and RSS will be defied and a Government seeking to implement it will be attacked by them. In the history of independent India this is an unprecedented situation.
In the light of these revelations, the Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) demands that the CVC be removed from office immediately and an enquiry ordered into the manner in which he dealt with the then CBI Director Alok Verma.

Proof of this nefarious intent has now come to light with the exposure of a circular issued on November 14, 2018 by the Kannur District Committee of the BJP. The circular calls for the sending of 200 trained volunteers from four areas of the district to the Sabarimala temple on December 13. The circular has also instructed these volunteers to carry necessary “materials” in their handbags.
Since these are serious charges, M J Akbar’s continuance as a Minister of State in the Central Government is untenable. He should immediately resign from office.
These attacks and anti-democratic stance of the ruling party is typical of the situation that is prevailing in Tripura ever since the BJP government came into office. Even collection of money for humanitarian relief is subjected to attack.
