Left Intervenes against communal forces in Ranchi

 

            Communal violence flared up in the capital city Ranchi. Markets, Schools and most of the educational institutions closed, Traffic stayed off the road on Tuesday, prohibitory order under section 144 Cr.P.C. has been clamped back.

            Tension flared again on Monday midnight in a part of the city. Examination scheduled on Sept. 29, have been postponed, Examination for recruitment of the 4th grade police posts of Ranchi range on Sept. 30, have been deferred. Competitive exams of Jharkhand State Selection Commission for the posts of Sub-inspector and Asst. Sub-inspector have been postponed.

            Effect of the Communal tension, cropped up after fresh violence and ablazing of shops & a three wheeler on Sept. 28 as seen through out the day on Sept. 29th in Markets, Banks also. Main Markets of the city were open but other markets were shut. People came out to purchase essential commodities. Business transaction was badly affected, outsider business people did not come in the city.

            The worst affected minority populated Doranda & Hinoo looked like Bandh. Attendence in offices, post office, restaurants were poor. RAF and State police have been deployed in the affected areas.

            Police has claimed to arrest 47 persons, 20 FIR lodged with 124 named accused in 15 police stations of town areas and 5 police stations of rural areas. Against 248 persons warrants have been issued as the Sr. S.P. Mr. Prabhat Kumar claimed.

            Police has appealed to call telephone no. 100 in case of fresh incidents. On Sept. 27, Sunday, the Chief Minister with DGP and other police & administrative officials toured in the city.

            The fresh violence cropped up after a piece of beef was said to be found near temple of Doranda in Capital City.

            The same incidences have been reported by Media in different districts e.g. Dhanbad, Bokaro, Garhwa, Chatra, etc. on last friday night, the festive day of muslims, where pieces of beafs were said to be found near different temples.

            The left parties, CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML), RSP, SUCI(C). Marxist Co-ordination Committee met on Sept. 28, represented by their state secretaries and leaders have appealed to the people to maintain harmony and demanded stern actions against those responsible for the present situation.

            The left parties have criticised the State Govt. which did not take preventive measures – rather encouraged the problem creater – at the initial stage. It has also demanded to lodge specific cases against the leaders of the VHP who agravated the situation by calling Bandh at Ranchi which was refused by the people.

            A delegation of the left parties will meet the governor on 1st Oct. 2015 at 11.30 AM.

            The Ranchi District Committees of the left parties have decided to hold a PEACE MARCH on 2nd Oct. 2015 at 12.00 noon in the Capital City.

            The JLS/PLS/AILU/IPTA organised a human-chain at the main square of Ranchi on Sept. 29, 2015 attended by intellectuals, Academicians, Advocates, Social Workers and other Secular People.
