Bengal LF Support to Sept. 2 Strike

Kolkata Dharna in Support of Sept 2 workers strike17 Left Parties of West Bengal, including the constituents of Left Front, began a three-day continuous stay-in demonstration at Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Kolkata from today August 17 in support of the nationwide strike on September 2 called by all Central Trade Unions and various Federations as also the March to the West Bengal Secretariat by various peasants and agricultural workers organisations on August 27.

Thousands of Left activists and supporters joined the programme. The inaugural meeting was presided over by CPI(M) Polit Bureau Member and Chairman, Left Front, Com. Biman Basu. Amongst the speakers were the Leader of the Opposition in WB State Assembly Com. Surjya Kanta Mishra and the leaders of all the parties viz. CPI(M), CPI, FB, RSP, SUCI(C), CPI(ML)-Liberation, DSP, SP, RCPI, MFB, BBC, Workers Party, Bolshevik Party, CPI(ML), PDS, CRLI and CPB.
