Left Front Victory in Tripura Civic Elections

The Polit Bureau of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has issued the following statement:
The Polit Bureau of the CPI(M) conveys its warm greetings to the CPI(M) and the Left Front of Tripura for their sweeping victory in the municipal elections. The Left Front has won a majority in 13 out of the 15 nagar panchayats. It has also retained the Agartala Municipal Council by winning 28 out of the 35 seats. The Left Front has won 81 per cent of the seats in the municipal council and the nagar panchayats.
This decisive victory is confirmation of the confidence that the people of Tripura repose in the CPI(M) and the Left Front.
