The attack on the private passenger bus by the Maoists only highlights their bankrupt policies of attacking ordinary citizens in various parts of the country including tribals who refuse to accept their dictates.
Maoist Killings Condemned
The Maoists killed four CPI(M) supporters Nazrul Mir, Sanatan Ahir, Swapan Ahir and Ashok Ahir in Chandavilla village in Binpur-2 Block of West Midnapore by taking them out of their homes in the middle of the night. Their bodies were found near the Highway, bearing marks of torture. All the killed were agricultural labourers.
Maoist Attack on Police Camp
The Maoists have been on a rampage in the West Midnapur district for over a year. The joint operations by the state police and the central paramilitary forces were launched to curb the Maoist violence. It is surprising that such an attack could be launched in daytime on a police camp with such large casualties and arms and ammunition being taken away.
Abducted CPI(M) Leader Released
Comrade Ananda Masi Horo, the popular tribal leader and two time zila parishad member in Sundargarh district, Orissa, who was abducted by Maoists on January 23 was found alive in an unconscious state by local people. The earlier report given by the police that he had been killed was erroneous. However the Maoist depredations in the area continue. Their armed gangs this morning have kidnapped another tribal leader working in the CITU affiliated mine workers union threatening the workers to leave the union.
Condemn Killings in West Bengal
This incident shows the extent of violence that is being unleashed against the CPI(M) and the Left in West Bengal while the Trinamul Congress and its leader Mamata Banerjee campaigns that there is no law and order in the state of West Bengal.
Maoists Targetting CPI(M)
The Maoists are targetting the CPI(M) wherever they are working in the tribal areas and amongst the rural poor. Apart from the killing spree in West Midnapur and adjoining districts in West Bengal, the Maoists in the recent months have killed a CPI(M) worker in Kanker district in Chattisgarh and attacked a Party office in Sundargarh district in Orissa.
